When Jocelyn Schumacher came to me as a new agent with SoDak Realty, she wasn’t just looking for a few tips—she was looking for the right foundation. A recent referral from her broker, SoDak Realty, helped point her in the right direction. Jocelyn wanted to manage her own social media but knew she needed guidance, direction, and tools that matched her vision.

Together, we built her marketing foundation through a Social Media Strategy Session and a Mini VIP Content Creation Day—complete with 25 images, five videos, and a personalized intro video.


From Human Resources to Real Estate: Jocelyn’s Journey

Jocelyn’s path into real estate wasn’t linear—it was purposeful. After transitioning out of a career in human resources, she began to seek a career that allowed for creativity, flexibility, and meaningful impact.

Building Her Brand from Scratch

Jocelyn came into our strategy session ready to learn. While she had previously managed a Facebook page for her cleaning business, she hadn’t yet ventured into Instagram or had any experience creating marketing funnels for real estate.

We explored her brand tone, ideal clients, preferred content types, and goals. Her brand vibe is:

  • Warm/Modern with a bit of edge

  • Focused on authenticity, reliability, and professionalism

  • Rooted in her ability to connect with families, military movers, aging clients looking to downsize, and out-of-state relocators


We developed two unique buyer personas to guide her content strategy and built out a blueprint to support both buyers and sellers across Watertown and Aberdeen, South Dakota.

We also covered:

  • Competitor analysis

  • SWOT analysis

  • Branding color palette (hello sage, cream, brown, and black)

  • Tool suggestions

  • Hashtag library

  • Tips for authentic yet professional content creation

Our goal: make marketing feel natural, not forced.


The VIP Content Creation Day

Two weeks after our session, we dove into content creation. We planned everything—from locations to outfits to shot lists—based on her strategy. Here’s what the shoot looked like:

🎥 What We Captured:

  • Headshots

  • Desk scenes

  • Lifestyle shots around town

  • B-roll footage (which she can use for reels, story content, and branded intros)

  • An introductory video to warmly welcome her future clients


All of this was shot in 4 hours and edited within a week and a half. She received both edited and raw video footage (with an option to add partial raw video files as a $75 add-on—a smart move for anyone wanting long-term video mileage).


Why Raw Footage Matters

The ability to repurpose content is gold in digital marketing. Raw footage gives clients flexibility to cut, repurpose, and recreate clips across different platforms—maximizing their content's shelf life and adapting it to future trends or seasonal campaigns.
